Did you know? Changi Airport oversees almost 400,000 flights every year – that’s over 1000 flights per day! With the world-class reputation that our airport has gained over the decades, it seems the upgrading doesn’t end – food, shopping, entertainment; you name it, they have it.
If you’re looking for a place to kill time over the weekend, good news: Changi Airport activities for kids are guaranteed to keep your family occupied for a couple of hours! Here’s a list of activities to do in Changi Airport for kids:
Jewel
1. Christmas at Canopy Park
From 17 November 2023 to 1 January 2024, visit Changi Airport to mesmerise your kids with a Christmas-themed Canopy Park! It’s like walking in a park – but with aircon (so you won’t be hearing any complains about the heatwaves)
There’s a bouncing net, hedge maze, mirror maze, a Christmas-themed Canopy park – if you haven’t already visited this attraction at Jewel, this festive season might be a good opportunity to!
Price: Purchase tickets to individual attractions here
2. Be a Cadet Ranger on The Jewel-Rassic Quest
Any one’s a Pokemon Go fan? Good news – this is one of the Changi Airport activities for kids which simulate that concept closely!
In Jewel’s renowned Avatar-like Shiseido Forest Valley, the kids will be kept busy with a wandering, with the help of AR. During this quest, they will participate in activities and games while learning about behemoth creatures of the Cretaceous period.
Price: $20 ($16.20 for CapitaStar & Changi Rewards Members)
3. Ride on Electronic Animals Around the Mall
While this activity may not be the main highlight, it could still be great fun for young toddlers – just to keep them appeased for a short while. Imagine zooming around the mall around Jewel, while watching water cascade down the misty fountain.
You can rent a little motor animal at ZOOMOOV, located on #04-225.
4. Changi Experience Studio – An Interactive Museum For the Airport
Think of this as an interactive museum experience, in full Changi Airport brand, no less. Level 4. Here at the Studio (Level 4), not only do visitors learn about Changi’s history, you also get to learn about the development and success of this international hub.
Built to be fun and engaging, you can expect neon lights, games, programmes, and more – surely one for the aviation fanatics!
Price: $25 for adults; $17 for kids
Terminal 1
5. Watch The Airplanes Take Off
Quite honestly, Terminal 1 might be the most boring terminal as compared to the rest. However, if there’s one thing you can do here (apart from making Jewel your destination), head to the Aviation deck at Level 3 to watch airplanes take off.
While it doesn’t replace the itch for flying, it can be quite a therapeutic experience.
Terminal 2
6. Explore Changi Jurassic Mile Park Connector
The Changi Jurassic Mile cycling route starts from this terminal and spans about 10km to East Coast Park. For kids who’re obsessed with dino parks, this activity is guaranteed to keep them excited.
Fret not if you don’t have a bicycle at home – you can simply rent a bike each at GoCycling kiosks (from $8/hour) located at Terminal 2 Hub & Spoke, #01-T2S-03.
Price: Free (for walking); From $8 per hour for bicycle rental
7. Check Out the Digital Installations at T2’s Revamp
Having undergone major uplift, T2 is now finally open to the public – and one thing’s for sure: the wait has not been in vain.
With its opening, there are now more Changi Airport activities for kids – to see, and to experience. While you’re here, be sure to check out the LED waterfall located at T2’s Departure Hall. There’s also the iconic flapping flight information display boards that’s now used as an interactive exhibition!
If you’re transiting through this terminal, be sure to check out the full scoop of what you can do at T2.
Terminal 3
8. Indoor Playground – Ball Pit, Jungle Gyms, Slides, and More!
With different zones and interactive elements, PLAY! by Kinderplay at T3 (Level B2) has a big ball play corner, bouncy swings, ball pit, bouncy castle, mini slides for the kids to expend all their energy.
Though it isn’t a huge play area, it’s great for parents who can sip on their coffee while watching your kids’ safety!
Price: $25 per hour for 2-12 year olds; $12 for toddlers below 2
9. The Slide
While many other exciting activities continuously pop up, The Slide @ T3 remains a mainstay for anyone looking for a mini adrenaline rush.
All you have to do is spend $10 at the airport, and you’re entitled to this 12m glide down from Level 1 to Basement 3.
10. Climbing @ The Rock School
It’s wild to think that there’s a climbing gym within an airport, located at B3. But nothing really shocks us with Changi Airport anymore (in the best sense, of course).
Here, there are guided classes, unguided classes, package workshops, and also a little rock wall for kids! Talk about being kid-friendly – this climbing gym welcomes toddlers from 2 years and above.
Price: From $19 for an unguided session; $30 for a guided session
Terminal 4
11. Photo Opps With Installations
Spoiler: there’s not much to do at T4 Changi Airport for kids. So unless you’re here to pick up someone and looking for time to kill, skip coming here (especially since you have to take a separate shuttle bus!)
Although, what you can find here are some installations like the whimsical hanging bird sculpture located on Levels 1 & 2, as well as a nostalgic Singaporean trishaw sculpture on Level 2.
When you’re bored, head up to the Kopitiam on Level 2 to satiate your hunger – though there’s also other options like Bak Kut Teh, Andes, Aji Ichi Sushi Bar.
