Quick answer
List the schools you really want first, in your true order. Include at least 2 to 3 schools where your child’s PSLE Score beats last year’s cut-off, as MOE advises. Read each school’s range for your child’s Posting Group in SchoolFinder. Last year’s ranges change every year, so treat them as a guide, never a promise.
The useful number: You have 7 calendar days from results day, tentatively 24 or 25 November 2026, to submit six choices. The window closes at 4.30pm on the last day.
Which choices fit your score?
Enter the PSLE Score and last year’s cut-off for up to three schools from MOE SchoolFinder.

Who is this for?
Parents of Primary 6 children after the PSLE results, and Primary 5 parents planning ahead. The planner keeps the score on your phone.
What does last year’s range mean?
SchoolFinder shows the PSLE Scores of the first and last student posted to each school last year (the 2025 exercise, MOE’s latest). The last student’s score is the cut-off point (COP). Each Posting Group has its own range.
Cut-offs move with each cohort: MOE says 1 point is typical and 2 or 3 is possible. So the planner calls a school “around” your score within 1 point, and never calls a school certain.
How does posting work?
Students are posted by PSLE Score within their Posting Group, their choice order and each school’s vacancies. Better scores get priority.
For the last places, ties go first by citizenship (Singapore Citizen, then PR, then international student). Next comes the school’s place in the choice order, then computerised balloting. Meeting last year’s cut-off does not guarantee a place.
Which Posting Group is my child in?
- PSLE Score 4 to 20
- Posting Group 3
- 21 and 22
- Posting Group 2 or 3
- 23 and 24
- Posting Group 2
- 25
- Posting Group 1 or 2
- 26 to 30, with AL7 or better in English and Mathematics
- Posting Group 1
A child eligible for two groups chooses one, and it applies to all six choices.
What about affiliation, SAP schools and DSA?
Affiliation priority applies only when the affiliated school is the first choice and your child meets its criteria. It is not a guaranteed place. At least 20% of places in each Posting Group go to students without it. In a dual-track school, it counts only for the SEC choice, not the Integrated Programme.
Only students who took English and Chinese at the PSLE can choose SAP schools. A Pass, Merit or Distinction in Higher Chinese with a score of 14 or better gives a posting advantage. SAP cut-offs can include the Higher Chinese grade.
A child admitted through DSA-Sec must take that place and cannot submit S1 choices.
How do you spread the six choices?
- Shortlist schools your child would like: the commute, programmes, CCAs and open houses.
- Look up last year’s range for your child’s Posting Group in MOE SchoolFinder.
- List them in your true order. Choice order is a tie-breaker, so a higher place can matter.
- Include at least 2 to 3 schools where your child’s score beats last year’s cut-off. Put an affiliated school first.
- Submit all six on the S1 Portal before 4.30pm on the last day.
What does a balanced list look like?
Say the PSLE Score is 12 (lower is better) and last year’s cut-offs were 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15:
- Above your score
- 2 choices (cut-offs 8 and 10: more than 1 point better than 12)
- Around your score
- 3 choices (cut-offs 11, 12 and 13: within 1 point)
- Below your score
- 1 choice (cut-off 15)
The score beats last year’s cut-off at 2 schools (13 and 15), meeting MOE’s suggestion. If none did, the planner would flag it.
Being within last year’s range is not a place. This year’s scores, choice order, tie-breakers and vacancies decide.
What are the 2026 dates?
- PSLE results (tentative)

- Choices open
- 11.30am on results day; the S1 Portal stays open 24 hours a day in the window

- Posting results (tentative)
- 18 December 2026, by the S1 Portal and SMS
DSA-Sec allocation results come with the PSLE results.
Which tool and download help?
The S1 six-choice planner shows how your six choices sit above, around and below the score. The PSLE AL score calculator gives the Posting Group for a score. Members can plan the year with the PSLE year family plan, which never asks for marks.
What can the planner not tell you?
It never predicts a posting. It only describes your choices against figures you type in. Read the ranges in MOE SchoolFinder; we publish no cut-off tables. Students not placed in any choice are posted last, to a school with places, by registered address. That school may not be near home.

Frequently asked questions
Is a school certain if we are within last year’s range?
No. Last year’s ranges change every year, and this year’s scores, choice order, tie-breakers and vacancies decide.
What are the tie-breakers?
For the last places among equal scores: citizenship first, then the school’s place in your choice order, then computerised balloting.
Can a child with a DSA place choose S1 schools?
No. A child admitted through DSA-Sec must take that place. DSA-Sec results come with the PSLE results.
