What can we practise together before P1 starts?
My P1 transition plan
Pick up to three priorities and get a gentle week-by-week list of things to practise before P1, from packing the bag to buying food at recess. Tick off each practice go.

Step 2 Your result
P1 practice tasks tried at least once so far:
There are more tasks than weeks left, so the most useful ones are in your plan and the rest are under "If you have time". There is no need to fit everything in.

If you have time
What this result assumes
The default first day of P1 is from MOE's 2027 school terms release, checked . Practice tasks are our own suggestions. Progress counts practice goes only: it is not a readiness test, a grade or a comparison with other children, and every child settles at their own pace. For more ideas, see the MOE Parent Kit. Your ticks stay on this device.
Step 3 What next
How do we get through mornings and bedtime with fewer battles?Read the guideWhat can your child practise before P1 starts? →Common questions
Is this a test of whether my child is ready for P1?
No. It only counts what you have practised together. There is no score, no pass mark and no comparison with other children.
When does P1 start in 2027?
MOE says Primary 1 starts on Monday 4 January 2027, a day before Primary 2 to 6.
What if P1 is only a few weeks away?
The plan keeps the most useful tasks and lists the rest under "If you have time". Do what fits; there is no need to cram.
