Every year, each eligible parent can take
Coming: the National Day Rally 2026 announced 8 days a year for each working parent with one Singapore citizen child aged 12 and below. It is 10 days with two and 12 days with three or more, with employers reimbursed in full. The start date is still to be announced, so this result uses today's rules.
What this result assumes
Statutory minimums only, per parent per leave year (the calendar year unless your employer agrees another 12 months). Unused days do not carry forward, new hires may get pro-rated days, and your contract may give more. MOM's rules prevail. Verify with MOM: childcare leave. Rules checked .

Does childcare leave add up if I have more than one child?
No. Each parent gets 6 days a year while the youngest Singapore citizen child is below 7, however many children you have. Parents with children both below 7 and aged 7 to 12 get at most 6 days a year in total.
Can I take childcare leave in a new job?
You need at least 3 continuous months of service first. In your first year, MOM's table gives 2 days after 3 to 4 completed months, rising to 6 days at 11 to 12 months.
Who pays for childcare leave?
For a Singapore citizen child below 7, your employer pays the first 3 days and the Government pays the next 3, up to S$500 a day including CPF. Extended Childcare Leave for ages 7 to 12 is government-paid. The Employment Act's 2 days for non-citizen children are employer-paid.
