What this result assumes

MOE Kindergarten 2026 fees are S$160 a month for Singapore Citizens and S$320 for PRs; the 2026 KCare maximum is S$425, and every Singapore Citizen child gets a S$150 KCare Basic Subsidy. For an eligible income tier we show MOE's own estimate of total out-of-pocket for MK plus KCare. It assumes the maximum KCare fee, so with a lower fee we show the most you could pay. For a Singapore Citizen child, ECDA's KiFAS comes off the MK fee (not KCare). MK and KCare fees are also payable in the June and December holidays. Childcare uses ECDA's full-day subsidy tables and your centre's fee. MOE has not published 2027 MK and KCare figures yet. We do not recommend either route. Common questions

How many hours does MK cover without KCare?

An MK session is 4 hours, in the morning (8am to 12pm) or afternoon (1pm to 5pm), so about 20 hours a week. KCare, at every MK, covers the time before and after the session till 7pm on weekdays, including school holidays.

Does MK give priority in P1 registration?

Children in an MOE Kindergarten located within a primary school have Phase 2A priority in that school's P1 registration. It is a priority phase, not a guaranteed place.

What changes in 2027?

ECDA's childcare income ceiling rises to S$15,000 on 1 January 2027, and the tool shows that table. MOE says KCare fees may vary in 2027 and subsidy details will come from MSF, so 2027 MK and KCare figures are not shown yet.

Which route is better?

We do not recommend one. Cost, hours, travel and how your child settles all matter. Use the Preschool Comparison Workbook to compare specific centres.
