What this plan assumes

Preferences only, not medical advice: your doctor and the ward team decide what is safe on the day. The pain relief options are the ones KKH and NUH list. The jabs at birth are the ones on the National Childhood Immunisation Schedule. Answers marked “Ask my doctor” or “Not decided yet” go on your list for the next check-up. Hospital words copied on . Common questions

Will the hospital follow my birth plan?

It tells the team what you would like. They follow it where it is safe for you and your baby. Talk it through with your doctor before the birth.

Who can be with me in labour?

At KKH, your partner is encouraged to be with you. KKH says exceptions may be made for your mother or sister: tell the nurse-in-charge when you are admitted. Other hospitals set their own rules.

What jabs does my baby get at birth?

BCG and hepatitis B dose 1, on the National Childhood Immunisation Schedule. Ask your doctor if you have questions.
